For pet owners and residents
Pet owners
Spay or neuter your pets.
Identify your pets with a collar.
Put the owner's phone number on the collar.
Register your pets with your town's Zoonoses Control Center (where there is one).
Microchip your pets (where available).
Fence your property with wire mesh.
Provide a covered kennel, and plenty of food and water, so pets do not escape.
If your pet escapes, tell Friends of Lucky through the website or social media.
Community
Care for COMMUNITY animals together: water, food and shelter.
Ask your town government for the basic services guaranteed by federal, state and municipal law: shelter, registration, vaccination, emergency care and mass spay/neuter.
Check that these basic services are provided.
Report abuse and abandonment.
If an unidentified animal appears in your community, tell Friends of Lucky through the website or social media.
Share posts about lost or abandoned animals to support local independent rescuers and Friends of Lucky.
Open your heart to responsible adoption.
